Lou Diamond Phillips made a guest appearance on the Pat Michaels Show on Z107.7 FM radio Wednesday afternoon, November 15, 2000. He talked about his new movie being filmed here--U.S. Marshals Undercover (not to be confused with an earlier film of similar name--it’s not a sequel).  “This is not a remake of U.S. Marshals,” Phillips said. “People heard that Tommy Lee Jones was in town. So I had to tell everybody, ‘no, it’s the other three-name guy.’”

During the 2 to 3 months of filming here in town and on location in Joshua Tree National Park, Phillips has rubbed elbows, tipped a few beers, and shot some pool with the locals--even attended a party or two. He said the friendliness of the 29 Palms folks has been great, and he’s enjoyed his stay. They’ll be wrapping up the shoot in a few days, so he’ll be on his way home to L.A. for Thanksgiving.
